Please read the Terms and Conditions of WeVOL carefully before submitting your online application. By submitting your application, you confirm your acceptance of, and agree to be bound by the following WeVOL Terms and Conditions of Service:
WeVOL reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any application.
The volunteer certifies that all information provided to WeVOL relating to their personal background, qualifications, experience, medical history, and current state of health is accurate and truthful, and that no information relating to the aforementioned areas is withheld. WeVOL accepts no liability for errors or omission of information provided by the volunteer.
Every volunteer is required to confirm that they are physically and psychologically capable of undertaking the activities related to the chosen experience. Custom accommodations and/or specialist support for any conditions or needs cannot be guaranteed. Leading up to the program start date, if an Independent Local Team does not feel they can suitably meet the needs or provide the support required for a participant, WeVOL reserves the right to cancel the application and suggest alternate programs or issue a refund.
Every volunteer is required to review and sign WeVOL’s Release & Waiver and Code of Conduct forms prior to starting their program. The Independent Local Team may have an additional Release & Waiver form and/or Code of Conduct that is specific for their program, which the volunteer will be required to review and sign at orientation. WeVOL and the Independent Local Team reserve the right to remove a volunteer from their program, without entitlement to refund or compensation, if it becomes apparent that untruthful, inaccurate, or incomplete information was provided by the volunteer or if relevant information was withheld, or for any other reason by giving notice.
Terms related to Program Cancellation, Changes, and Refunds will always be upheld if a volunteer becomes unable to participate.
It is the responsibility of the volunteer to obtain and carry all necessary documentation such as visas and passports. While WeVOL may provide guidance, it is not responsible for the accuracy of advice or obtaining documents. Volunteers must ensure documents are valid.
Travel insurance including overseas health coverage is mandatory. Volunteers are responsible for selecting appropriate coverage for the entire travel period.
Participation requires full payment of Program Fees as listed on the WeVOL website. Fees may be revised but will not affect existing registrations unless program details are changed.
Fees are due no later than thirty days prior to the program start date. Failure to pay may result in loss of placement without refund of the Registration Fee.
Program Fees include accommodation. No refund will be provided for alternative lodging chosen independently.
Some start dates may include surcharges or specific conditions.
Participants with fees exceeding $500.00 may pay in installments depending on time before the start date.
The final installment must be paid no later than 7 days before the due date. Fees are only considered fully paid once the final installment is received.
Missed payments must be resolved by contacting WeVOL.
Additional activities or services booked through WeVOL are considered “Add-ons.”
WeVOL may revise Add-on fees at any time.
All Add-ons include a non-refundable 5% transaction fee. Wire transfers include a minimum $75 fee.
Add-ons are non-refundable but may be credited depending on provider terms.
If a program is cancelled by WeVOL, volunteers may:
WeVOL’s maximum liability is limited to fees paid.
All fees are in Euros. Currency conversions may result in different refunded amounts due to exchange rates and fees.
Refunds will not exceed the original payment amount.
Credits are refundable only as credits.
Bank fees are non-refundable.
No refunds are provided if a participation letter has been issued.
WeVOL maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward abusive behavior. Calls or contact may be terminated if behavior is unacceptable, and further contact may be restricted.
Volunteers are automatically enrolled in rewards and referral programs offering discounts and benefits.
Volunteers accept all risks associated with international travel and volunteering. WeVOL is not liable for losses including injury, illness, death, property damage, natural disasters, or conflict.
Volunteers must comply with health testing requirements when necessary or risk removal without refund.
WeVOL does not discriminate based on protected characteristics. Volunteers must adhere to this policy or face dismissal without refund.
Volunteers under 18 must provide parental or guardian consent.
They must comply with safety requirements and behavior standards.
Failure to comply may result in removal without refund.
Volunteers must comply with all Codes of Conduct. Violations may result in dismissal without refund.
Emergency contacts or affiliated institutions may be notified if necessary.
Certification is conditional on good conduct.
Volunteers must follow local rules regarding alcohol. Drug use (unless prescribed) is prohibited and results in dismissal.
All volunteers must pass a background check.
Volunteers agree to indemnify WeVOL against any liabilities arising from participation.
WeVOL is not liable for actions of Independent Local Teams. Liability is limited to fees paid.
All implied warranties are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
Media provided by volunteers may be used by WeVOL for marketing without compensation.
Reviews and feedback may also be used for promotional purposes.
This website is operated from Costa Rica. Users accessing it from other locations are responsible for compliance with local laws.
WeVOL does not guarantee accuracy of site materials.

WeVOL is not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond its control.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica and subject to its courts.
